Description: |
Three specimens from the Mt Binga area in the Chimanimani Mts are stored at SRGH in a folder labelled Lopholaena sp. no. 1. They are provisionally identified by AR Torre as being distinct from Lopholaena brickellioides, which occurs in the same area. It is uncertain why this distinction was deemed appropriate but the specimens do appear to have shorter, more dense inflorescences and the leaves are subsessile and more rounded than in L. brickellioides. Further research would be needed to establish whether these specimens indeed represent a new undescribed taxon. |
