Description: |
Erect spreading shrub to 3 m, rarely a small tree to 4.5 m. Long branches curving, sometimes pendulous. Spines 5-10 mm long. Leaves in clusters of 2-6; petiole 2-5 mm; lamina green, glossy above, paler beneath, sometimes semi-succulent, 2-3.5 × 0.8-1 cm, obovate to elliptic or lanceolate, glabrous or with microscopic glandular hairs. Flowers bisexual, 5-merous. Calyx 3-5 mm, glabrous. Corolla creamy-white to pale mauve; tube narrow, 12-16 mm long; lobes 3-4 mm long, sparsely ciliate. Stamens unequal, 3 included and 3 exserted; filaments glabrous. Fruit 3-5 mm in diameter, red, spherical to slightly obovoid. |
