Spiny shrubs. Leaves usually in axillary clusters, simple, entire. Flowers actinomorphic, solitary or in small clusters. Calyx 5-toothed or weakly 2-lipped with 2-3 teeth, scarcely enlarging in fruit. Corolla narrowly funnel-shaped; lobes spreading. Fruit a small berry.
