Location (detailed): Located in Southwestern Rwanda, Nyungwe Forest is the largest expanse of forest in Rwanda, covering 1,019 km2. It consists of dense Afromontane forests, bamboo-covered slopes, grasslands and wetlands. There are over 1100 plants species recorded from the area with the highest percentage of endemics in the entire Albertine Rift Ecological system.
