Description of the family

Trees. Stipules 0. Leaves simple, alternate, entire. Inflorescence of terminal panicles. Flowers actinomorphic, bisexual. Sepals, petals, stamens and staminodes 5. Ovary superior, 1-2-locular. Fruit a drupe.

Worldwide: 1 genus and 4 species in the SW Pacific

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated genus and 1 cultivated taxon.
