Small, straggling tree c. 1.6 m high; younger branches densely covered in very small, green, scale-like overlapping leaves; "flowers" small cone-like, yellowish-green. One small tree at collection site; generally occasionally seen.

Woodly subshrub up to 40 cm high with tufts of linear dleaves growing from a solid fibrous base, blackened by fires; flowers mauve purple; glandular tuberculate on peduncle, ovary and outside corolla lobes. Many specimens seen but only one with flowers; generally common in the area
