Notes: | This particularly strange and atypical growth form is not considered taxonomically distinct but deserves special attention. It is found in shallow soil on rock and in crevices on granite outcrops in Zimbabwe. This form is characterised by a shrub-like habit with 1-several stiffly erect branches, which are surrounded at the base by many shorter semi prostrate branches, spreading carpet- or cushion-like over the surrounding rock. |
