| Description: |
Erect perennial herb, growing up to 1 m tall but usually smaller. Leaves sessile, membranous; lamina glabrous or hispid, margin entire, with scattered teeth or more deeply lobed; cauline leaves sagittate-auriculate. Capitula arranged in a lax or dense panicle, (involucre 8-10 mm at flowering time), usually pale blue but much paler, almost white forms occur, as also do purplish forms. Flora Zambesiaca reports the heads may rarely be yellow. |
