Shrub, attaining 2 m. Leaves 4-7 × 1-2 cm, alternate, clustered more densely towards the tips of the branches, pinnatifid, the lobes curving outwards and apiculate, often becoming narrower and smaller towards the leaf
base. Capitula on furrowed peduncles, 10-15 cm. Phyllaries 5-6 mm, 14-15, the free part ovate-acuminate to subcircular. Ligules
yellow. Flowering capitula c.4 cm in diameter. Achenes c.5 × 2 mm, narrowly obovoid, glabrous, black when mature. Pappus 0. |
Notes:

Very commonly cultivated shrub in Zimbabwe, seeding freely within gardens. This has been recorded as an escape from a wet ditch in Alexandra Park, Harare and also as a colonist of disturbed forest areas near Penhalonga. |
