Description: |
Usually spreading or more or less erect, less often prostrate annual herb. Leaves 1 - 3 cm, pinnatifid; lobes linear to narrowly oblong, varying from densely hairy (and hence appearing grey) to thinly hairy (and hence appearing green). Capitula spherical, in terminal corymbs, 3-6 together, each capitulum 3 - 6 mm in diameter. Phyllaries subacute at apex with a membranous margin. Achene 1 mm, with dense uncinate hairs. Pappus a minute crown-shaped rim, sometimes 0 in the outer florets. |
Notes: | Grangea species can be confused with Cotula anthemoides, which is also a small composite with rayless yellow flowers occurring in aquatic situations. |
