Description: |
This variety can be distinguished from var. glabra by the more lax inflorescences, longer peduncles, and shorter phyllaries. It is a generally less robust plant. |
Notes: | The western variant (see photos) differs somewhat from the one found in the south-eastern lowveld and may prove to be taxonomically distinct (G.V. Pope in FZ VI-1, 91). |
