Robust shrub-like perennial up to 3 m. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, pubescent particularly beneath. Flowers in clusters at the ends of branches, pale to deep pink, darker in the corolla throat. Fruit a glabrous dehiscent capsule, brown. |
| Notes: | Its presence at SRGH in cultivated folders only, indicates it has only recently spread as a well naturalised escape in Zimbabwe. |

| Habitat: | Along riverbanks and roadside ditches, particularly near rural habitation, where it is often used as an ornamental hedge plant. |
