Description: |
Erect, hairless perennial herb, up to 150 cm tall, growing from a creeping rhizome. Stems hollow, grooved, sometimes tinged red. Leaves pinnate, up to 30 cm long; leaflets oblong-lanceolate, up to 10 × 2 cm; margin with close-set regular teeth curving over each other as to give an almost scalloped appearance. Flowers in compound umbels with 7-24 rays, greenish-white to yellowish; bracts numerous, linear, up to 2 cm long; bracteoles similar to bracts. Fruit ovate-oblong, c. 2 × 1 mm, reddish-brown when ripe. |
Notes: | A specimen found in BR, collected in 1974, by Bamps, Symoens and Vanden Berghen (no. 760) is from the same place and is possibly from the same colony of plants, namely at the Bridal Veil Falls, as Bart's photographs taken on 31 Jan 2006. |
