Description: |
Shrub or small tree with grey bark. Leaves oblong-elliptic to somewhat oblanceolate, 9-24 cm long, deflexed at an angle to the petiole, leathery, hairless, veining prominent on both surfaces; margin subentire or with short spiny teeth; petiole 20-55 mm long, hairless, channelled above. Inflorescences terminal, pyramidal,up to 20 cm long, with peduncle stout, angular, pubescent. Flowers pendulous in bud, becoming more or less erect when open. Sepals ovate to oblong, 2-3 mm long, smooth or only obscurely ribbed, more or less pubescent. Petals ovate-lanceolate, 4-5 mm long, white to greenish-yellow. Capsule more or less erect, obovoid to ellipsoid, 20-25 mm long, hairless, greenish or brown. |
