Description:
See Glinus lotoides var. lotoides for general description details. This variety differs in being almost hairless or, if stellate hairy never very densely so and the plant generally looking green. See also Glinus oppositifolius var. lanatus for comparison which differs in indumentum being simple and crisped, not stellate.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: virens: greenish, referring to the green, less densely hairy appearence of this variety.
Habitat: In various types of woodland, scrub, riverine fringes, grassland and along roadsides, often in sandy soils
Altitude range: (metres) Up to 1440 m
Flowering time:Nov - May
Worldwide distribution: Widespread in the Old World tropics and subtropics
