Description:
A widely scrambling spiny shrub. Leaves spirally arranged, often on short, spine-tipped, lateral branchlets, elliptic, dark green, hairless. Flowers in small, dense axillary heads, white, unisexual, sexes on different plants. Fruit a small head of nutlets, each enveloped in the persistent perianth, grey to orange.
