Description:
Short, slender terrestrial, 15 - 35 cm. Leaves along the stem but mainly near the base, leathery, linear-lanceolate, folded along their length. Inflorescence 10-30 flowered, large in relation to the stem. Flowers mainly white; sepals broad, grey-green, reflexed. Petals 2-lobed nearly to the base; both lobes lanceolate. Lip 3-lobed; mid-lobe longest; all lobes linear. Stigmatic arms prominent, knob-shaped at the apex.

Habitat: Moist (sub)montane grassland, usually in marshy ground among rocks.
Altitude range: (metres) 1500 - 2370 m
Flowering time:Feb - Mar
Worldwide distribution: Zimbabwe and nearby Mozambique: recorded mainly from the Border Highlands but also from the Central watershed around Harare.
Zimbabwe distribution: C,E
