Description: |
Terrestrial orchid growing from a rhizomatous rootstock. Stem thin, somewhat straggling and bamboo-like, up to 1.5 m tall. leaves spirally arranged along the stem, dark green, plicate, lanceolate or elliptic, up to 24 cm long, narrowing at the base into a sheathing petiole; margin somewhat wavy. Inflorescences axillary and terminal, 4-12-flowered. Floral bracts lanceolate to ovate, 7-15 mm long. Flowers non-resupinate, 'spidery'. Sepals, petals and lip similar, more or less narrowly linear-spathulate, 6-8.5 cm long, green, petals and lip turning white when mature. |
