Description: |
Tufted perennial, the basal sheaths pubescent to woolly tomentose. Culms 30–150 cm. high, unbranched. Leaf blades up to 5 mm. wide, flat or filiform. Panicle 10–30 cm. long, linear to narrowly ovate, open or dense, the branches glabrous to pubescent or rarely villous. Spikelets 6–12 mm. long, glabrous or rarely tuberculate setose. Inferior glume acute to acuminate; superior glume and inferior lemma acuminate. Superior lemma 9-nerved, bidentate; awn 1.5–4.5 mm. long; stamens 3; callus 0.5–0.7 mm. long, linear, narrowly truncate. |
