| Description: |
Densely tufted perennial. Culms 20–100 cm. high. Leaf laminae 2–6 mm. wide, flat or some of them convolute. Inflorescence of (1)2–5 racemes, these 1–5 cm. long, bearing spikelets singly on a triquetrous rhachisc. 0.5 mm. wide (sometimes narrowly winged), its margins sparsely ciliate with white or yellow hairs up to 2 mm. long. Spikelets 3–4(4.5) mm. long, pubescent, subacute. Inferior glume 2/3 to almost as long as spikelet, 5–11-nerved. Superior lemma obscurely rugulose. |
