Description: |
Perennial with branching culms 50–150 cm. high. Leaf sheaths clavellate hairy; laminae 4–8 cm. long and 12–20 mm. wide, narrowly ovate, narrowed and asymmetric at the base, clavellate hairy on the margins, acuminate. Panicle 4–6 cm. long, scarcely exserted from the uppermost leaf sheath, oblong, sparsely branched. Spikelets oblong, 4–5 mm. long, glabrous; inferior glume ovate, 1/2 the length of the spikelet, 7-nerved; superior glume as long as the spikelet, 11-nerved; inferior lemma 13-nerved, sterile, its palea well developed; superior lemma and palea dull, minutely puberulous at the apex. |
