Derivation of specific name: | whyteanum: named after Alexander Whyte (1834-1908), Scottish plant explorer, and botanist who collected plants in Liberia, Kenya, Malawi and Uganda. He was Curator of the Entebbe Botanic Garden in Uganda. |
Habitat: | Grassland, rocky places with Xerophyta sp. and scrubby margins of forest. |
