Description:

Evergreen tree to 25 m. Leaves alternate, 1-pinnate, paripinnate with 4-8 pairs of entire leaflets. Leaflets 8-10 × 3-5 cm, glossy; apex acuminate with an acute tip; base rounded, asymmetric. Inflorescences 8-15 cm long. Flowers with pale greenish-cream petals. Fruit a dark brown to black, ovoid capsule. Seeds winged. |

In Zimbabwe, known only from the Commercial Section of the National Botanic Gardens. The identity of the tree there is in some doubt as it to some extent resembles Swietenia macrophylla, a very similar species. |
