Description: | Tree, to 15 m. Bark rough and fissured. Leaves up to 40 cm long; leaflets up to 9 × 3 cm, glabrous, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, strongly sickle-shaped; base highly asymmetric; margin coarsely serrate. Inflorescence an axillary panicle. Petals white. Drupe 1.5-1.8 cm long, ellipsoid, yellow. |
Notes: | Included for Zimbabwe on the basis of a comment by Tom Muller that it is sometimes cultivated at low altitudes. This species somewhat resembles Toona ciliata, but differs in the serrate leaflets (entire in Toona) and the berry-like fruit (a capsule in Toona). |
