Description:

Very similar to Peltophorum africanum, differing in the closely appressed hairs on the young branches and by stipules which are not pinnate (they are either simple, inconspicuous or 0). |
Notes:
|
Native of tropical South America and rarely introduced into southern Africa as an ornamental.
The species has been collected from the Matobo Hills, but the status of the collection is unclear. We have included this species on the grounds that it might just be naturalised in the Rhodes Matopos NP. |
