| Description: | Unarmed small tree or shrub usually up to 5 m. Leaves opposite or in whorls of 3: petiole long, 2-8 cm; lamina broadly ovate to subcircular, 2-6 × 2-4 cm, reddish-purple; margin entire; base subtruncate, apex obtuse. Bracts small. Inflorescence of small few-branched cymes consisting of tiny cyathia bearing 4-6 purplish glands with creamy-white, semi-circular, lobed, petaloid appendages. Capsules smooth, glabrous. |
