Description: | Perennial herb or subshrub, to 3 m tall according to FZ but typically much smaller in the flora area. Leaves opposite, petiolate, ovate, 2-20 cm long, green, without any colourful markings. Inflorescences of dense whorls, borne in the upper axils and at the stem apex. Calyx 4-lobed. Corolla white, pink, purple or red, with darker markings on the ‘upper’ lip. |
