Description: | Mostly a shrub up to 3 m high, sometimes a small tree up to 6 m. Leaves 3-foliolate; median leaflet obovate, sometimes elliptic-lanceolate, 1.7-9 cm long;lateral leaflets 1-3 cm long, narrowly to broadly elliptic, dull green above, paler below, hairless or hairy mainly on the midrib and veins; margins entire or with 1-4 obtuse teeth in the upper half; petiole 0.6-4 cm long, slightly grooved above. Flowers in axillary and terminal dense heads, unisexual in the same inflorescence, very small, yellowish-green. Fruit a drupe, subglobose, 4 mm in diameter, shiny red. |
