Description: | Shrub or tree to 7 m. Thorns in pairs at nodes, black, straight, short and inconspicuous. Leaves large (15-30 cm); pinnae 7-14 pairs. Inflorescence large, terminal, much-branched, composed of orange-yellow spherical heads. Fruit flat, dehiscent. |
Notes: | This is a very distinctive late-flowering species with large leaves and a large panicles of golden heads. |
Derivation of specific name: | amythethophylla: from the Greek (amuthos - without words or countless, phyllon - leaf) and refers to the large number of leaflets. |
