Description: | Slender, deciduous, small tree. Bark greyish-brown, rough and furrowed; young branchlets velvety. Leaves with 6-20 pairs of pinnae; rhachis ending in a small hook; leaflets in 12-24 pairs per pinna, slightly sickle-shaped, pointed at the apex, obovate to almost circular; petiole hairy with a gland above the middle. Flowers in fluffy, semi-spherical heads, creamy-white; stamens up to 2 cm. Pods flattened, narrow, up to 18 cm, brown. |
Notes: | This species may be confused with A. amara. That species, however, has more rounded tips to the leaflets, which are greyish velvety and straight. The also similar A. forbesii has broader leaflets and pods, and 2-7 pairs of pinnae. |
