Common names:
Description: Tall bamboo forming clumps of orange culms, which are markedly and strongly striped in green. Very rarely flowering.
Notes: A commonly planted ornamental. The plant in the Mukuvisi Woodlands shown on the photographs is the basis for the inclusion of this species (in square brackets) under Division C in my checklist. It could be merely a relic of cultivation growing in a wild-looking place.

Worldwide distribution: Native to Indochina and southern China, widely cultivated and sometimes naturalized elsewhere.
