Leaves asymmetric, palmate-veined, lobed. Tepals pink, orange, yellow or white; 5 in male flowers, 4 in female flowers. Fruits 3-winged.

Worldwide: 900 species in tropical and warm regions, especially America

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
