Burttdavya Hoyle

Description of the genus

Tree. Stipules large but deciduous. Leaves petiolate, opposite, large, thick-textured. Inflorescences spherical. Calyx lobes linear-spathulate. Corolla tubular, 5-lobed. Style exserted. Ovary 2-locular; each loculus with many ovules. Fruiting heads spherical; individual fruits individually separate, indehiscent, red.

Worldwide: 1 species in Tanzania, Mozambique and Malawi

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
