Tree up to 8 m high, suckering very freely, sometimes forming dense thickets. Leaves deciduous, compound, imparipinnate with 9-17 leaflets. Flowers in panicles; sepals 5, petals 5, narrowly oblong, white. Stamens 10. Fruit a schizocarp, each mericarp winged. Derivation of name: Derived from Ambonese meaning tree of the Gods Worldwide: 6-10 species, native to East Asia Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon. |
