Description of the genus

Erect bushy annual (in our species). Leaflets 3 (in ours), with stipels; margin entire. Inflorescences of short axillary racemes. Flowers white or purplish. Calyx with 2 upper teeth ± united. Standard broad, auricled at base. Stamens usually monadelphous. Style not bearded on the stigmatic part. Pod flat, narrow, usually constricted between the seeds.

Worldwide: c. 16 species from Asia to Australia

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
