Shrubs up to 3 m high. Branches grooved or angular. Leaves 3-foliate, margins entire, sometimes pubescent. Flowers in short terminal racemes, up to 1 cm long. Calyx 2-lipped; teeth conspicuous. Corolla yellow; standard broad, recurved. Stamens connate. Style incurved, short. Fruit oblong, compressed. Worldwide: Many species and hybrids, native to Europe and Western Asia. Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon. |
