Epiphyte. Flowers white, with slightly twisted spurs greenish-cream in colour. Leaves rectangular, notched at the apex.

Plants growing c. 8 feet tall. Flowers reddish-orange, waxy, in spikes up to 9 inches tall. Rainfall 70 inches per annum.

Parasite on Julbernardia globiflora. Flowers orange, fading to greenish at the base and tipped with red. Leaves bluish grey-green.

On Pterocarpus angolensis.

A large bushy erect herb up to 2 m tall. Leaves triangular, twice as long as broad, very slightly pubescent. Inflorescence a corymb, with showy golden yellow flowers 2 cm in diameter.

Bushes 1-1.5 m tall, with clusters of showy yellow flowers.Calyx and buds maroon. Upper surface of leaves with fine silky hairs.

Fairly common small herb. Light mauvey-blue flowers.

Perennial bushes 1.5 m tall. Flowers white. Leaves velvety greyish-green.

Bushy herbs 2 feet tall and 2-3 feet across. Flowers mauve, 1.25 inches diameter. Sepals, leaves and stems pubescent. Leaves small - up to .75 inches long. No spines.

Bushy herbs ± 2 ft tall in association with Aloe cameronii. Flowers bluish mauve, 1 inch diameter. Bracts reticulated with purple. Anthers violet, filaments light yellow. Spines 0.5 inches long at base of flowers.

Bushy herbs about 40 cm tall under Brachystegia glaucescens among granite boulders. Plants with numerous fine spines about 1 cm long. Flowers light bluish-mauve.

Bushy perennial herb, flowers apricot yellow in terminal spikes, the bracts subtending bristles at the base of each flower. Leaves with pairs of stipellar spines at base.

With Acacia tortilis and baobabs. Bushy herbs, c. 18 inches tall. Flowers pale blue, 1 inch diameter and tube 1 inch long. Calyx ... [illegible].

Plants perennial bushy herbs 9 inches tall, with spiny leaves and bracts. Flowers white.

Plants with conspicuous inflorescences about 9" long of long violet coloured flowers; lower lip more purplish in shade except for the inward bulge in the throat which is rusty straw colour. Stems square; leaves opposite, cordate-acuminate, 9" long on 3" petioles. Plants bushy herbs.

Colony of ± dozen plants. Flowers deep maroon, slightly spotted with greenish on base externally; lobes 2 cm long, spreading. Tuber 10-15 cm diameter, 3-5 cm thick. Leaves linear, 4-5 cm long.

Herbs up to 18 inches tall with a slender central stem arising from a flattened tuber, ± 4 inches across and 1 inch deep just below the surface of stony soil at foot of basaltic sandstone outcrop. Flower greenish, very hairy. Seed pods in pairs 1-6 inches long; very slender.

Shrubs 3-8 ft. tall; leafless when flowering; bushes ablaze with white (sometimes pink) flowers

Very large shady trees. Masses of golden yellow flowers. Fruit like small mango in appearance, edible. Local name: Mutondo.

Plants form low cushions 10 cm diameter. Flower stems 5-8 cm long. Flowers white. Leaves [alternately?] opposite in a series of 4, dull green.

A showy species. Flowers white with faint pink stripe on back of each perianth lobe and turning pink with age. Anthers dark. Style and stigma purple for terminal half of length. Leaves only lightly undulate; margins minutely toothed, 30-50 cm long, 3-5 cm wide.

Plants 18 inches tall. Flowers white, trumpet-shaped, with faint pink stripe on back of each corolla lobe. Anthers yellow. Apical half of style purple. [illegible]. Leaf margins straight.

Only one colony, ± 50 m seen. Plants to 60 cm tall. Hood light green, tinged purple or rusty brown, with darker purple venation. Lip small, greenish yellow, narrow, down-curved.

Plants 10 inches tall, flowers 1 inch diameter. Lateral sepals and extension of dorsal sepal red, interior of latter yellow spotted with red. Lip also yellow and red.

Flowers 2 inches, cream coloured with conspicuous yellow anthers at bottom of slight cup; petals spreading. Leaves palmately lobed; lobes linear with occasional linear projections.

Flowers dull purplish-maroon with light greenish yellow in the throat. Fruit with short stout hooks, mostly on margin.

Flowers papery white with yellow centre in clusters 3-4 inches across. Leaves velvety, silvery, grey.

An abundant prostrate creeping weed. Forms mat 2-3 yards across. Flowers white.

Succulent leaved herbs with conspicuous orange flowers, c. 18" tall. Leaf margins irregularly toothed.

A magnificent species with deep pink flowers and reddish-green bracts about 50-60 cm tall.
