Description:
Perennial herb up to 1 m tall, apparently not aromatic, with fleshy stems more or less sparsely hairy and with sessile pale glands. Leaves fleshy, broadly elliptic, 4-8 cm long, discolorous, darker and pubescent above, densely hairy and with pale sessile glands beneath; margin roughly crenate; petiole 0-2 mm long. Inflorescences densely-flowered and with flowers of short side branches pressed against the main axis; flowers ofthen on one side. Calyx 5-7 mm long, reddish with glandular hairs and pale sessile glands. Corolla 18-20 mm long, blue.

Derivation of specific name: caudatus: abruptly ending in a long tail-like tip
Habitat: Rocky areas in quartzite grassland

Worldwide distribution: Only known from Chimanimani Mts, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
