Description:
A more or less hairless sub-shrub, up to 1 m high. Leaves sessile, elliptic oblong, 1-4.5 cm long, bluntly rounded at the apex, cordate at the base, somewhat lellathery; margin entire somewhat rolled under. Flowers unisexual on different plants. Male flowers in axillarry several-flowered clusters, yellowish-green. Female flowers not seen.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: sessilifolia: leaves without petioles; sessile leaves.
Habitat: On rocky mountain summits and in boulder scree.
Altitude range: (metres) 1950 - 2450 m
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Restricted to the Chimanimani Mts in Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
