Description:
Shrub up to c. 5 m tall. Young branches shortly grey or brownish hairy. Leaves pinnate with 7-13 pairs of leaflets; petiole and rhachis grey or brownish hairy. Leaflets elliptic-oblong, up to 38 mm long, mostly hairless on the upper surface, appressed pubescent beneath; margins often somewhat inrolled. Inflorescences compact,subglobose inflower, extending up to 10 cm long in fruit; bract large and conspicuous but falling soon. Flowers purple. Pods 5-6 cm long,woolly with hairs grey at least at their tips.
Notes: This shrub superficially resembles Mundulea sericea.

Habitat: In open grassland around granite kopjes.
