Description:
Annual or perennial shrubby herb, up to 1 m tall, with erect or spreading stems, sometimes woody at the base. Leaves 5-11-foliolateup to 60 mm long; leaflets elliptic-oblong, lanceolate or linear, up to 35mm long, almost hairless above, densely strigose beneath; stipules lanceolate-subulate, 1-5 mm long, erect, spreading or reflexed. Inflorescences long pedunculate racemes, up to 22cm long, more or less densely many-flowered. Flowers reddish-pink with wings twisted outwards away from the keel. Pods cylindric, 25-40 mm long, densely appresed strigose.

Habitat: In a variety of deciduous woodland and grassland habitats, sometimes along streams or in old cultivated fields.
