Description:
Shrubby perennial up to 2.5 m. Leaves imparipinnate with 6-10 pairs of narrowly elliptic leaflets and a terminal leaflet. Flowers in short dense axillary inflorescences, pale to deep pink; bracts and stalks covered in dense dark hairs. Fruit a straight cylindric pod, 2-3 cm.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: arrecta: pointing upwards, diverging from axis at a narrow angle
Habitat: In grassland, open woodland and along road sides and forest margins.
