Description:
Erect annual herb up to 40 cm high. Leaves oblanceolate, up to 8 cm long, sparsely hairy on both surfaces; margin entire; sessile but basal ones narrowing into a subpetiole. Inflorescence terminal, 2-9-flowered, often one-sided; bracts leaf-like, narrowly lanceolate, sessile. hairy, often glandular; pedicels o-8 mm long. Calyx oblong-cylindric, c. 8 mm long, enlarging and becoming broadly campanulate in fruit, calyx teeth 5, c. 2 mm long. Petals narrowly oblanceolate, 9-11 mm long, white to pinkish often with a darker carmine blotch. Capsule ovoid, about as long as the persisting calyx.
