Description:
Epiphytic herb. Stem short, covered in old leaf bases. Leaves up to 6, lanceolate, up to 17 cm long. Inflorescences arising from the base of the stem, up to 20 cm long, simple or rarely branched with single flowers per inflorescence branch. Flowers greenish-cream, translucent, darker at the apices of tepals and spur. Lip almost square with an apical point and a very wavy margin. Spur conical, pendent, c. 10 mm long.
Notes: Fewer than 250 mature individuals are known but it may have been overlooked. The area is under severe threat from encroaching agricultural settlers and the species is listed as Critically endangered.
Derivation of specific name: parkesii: named after Mr Duncan Parkes, who collected the type and flowered it in cultivation.
