Description: |
Procumbent perennial herb. Stems up to 35 cm long, more or less roughly hairy. Leaves more or less ovate-elliptic, 2-4.5 cm long, gland-dotted and hairless below or with a few hairs along the midrib, sparsely hairy above; margin entire, sometimes slightly rolled under. Flowers solitary. Bracts greenish to brown, sometimes with purple veins, oblong-elliptic to obovate-spathulate with long hairs on the midrib and among the apical bristles. Corolla blue to purple, with darker veins, 9-11 mm long; lip ovate-spathulate, hairy on both sides, 4-5 mm wide, lobes of same length, central lobe narrower than side lobes. |
Notes: | Note: this species is very similar to B. integrifolia and is distinguished from that species by the strongly recurved apical part of the bracts; the hairs on the bracts; the smaller corolla and the narrower lip. |
