Description of the genus

Annual herbs; stems erect or climbing, with numerous 2-4-pinnatisect cauline leaves. Flowers in leaf-opposed racemes. Sepals 2. Corolla strongly zygomorphic; the upper petal with a spur. Fruit a 1-seeded indehiscent nutlet.

Worldwide: 50 species, ranging from Europe to C Asia, the Himalayas and tropical East Africa

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
