Description of the genus

Shrubs. Hairs simple. Leaves alternate, gland-dotted. Inflorescence a corymb. Capitula discoid. Receptacular scales usually present. Corolla glandular with 5-lobed limb. Anthers caudate with distinct tails. Achenes obovoid, 8-10-ribbed. Pappus of scales, each scale terminating a rib.

Worldwide: 10 species in southern Africa: Angola, Zimbabwe, Madagascar and South Africa as far as the Eastern Cape

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
