Description of the genus

Shrubs; stems and leaves viscid and shiny at least when young. Leaves alternate, petiolate, linear to lanceolate. Inflorescence of pedunculate corymbose cymes. Phyllaries in 3-5 rows. Capitula disciform or shortly radiate; disk florets male, yellow; ray-florets female, in several rows, yellow. Achenes narrowly turbinate. Pappus of 1 row of barbellate bristles, shortly connate at the base.

Worldwide: 60 species in the tropics of the Old World

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
