Description: Shrubby, much-branched leafy plant to 30 cm or more. Leaves 2.5-6 cm long, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, narrowed to the petiole below, acuminate. Flowers solitary. Calyx-tube c. 2 cm long, slender, backwardly-spurred, 6-toothed, bright red but with dark ring at the end and a white mouth(hence the name Cigarette plant). Petals minute or 0.
