Description of the genus

Shrubs; stipules minute, subulate, caduceus. Leaves alternate. Inflorescence axillary and terminal cymose fascicles, or flower solitary an axillary; sepals 5, lanceolate and persistent; petals 4 or 5, yellow much larger than sepals, confluent, fugacious. Fruit capsules, splitting into 6(-8) 1-seeded mericarps. Seeds with a membranous wing.

Worldwide: 1 species in East, South and South East Asia.
